Developer and game design
An independent strategy game from Finland about Genghis Khan, the Mongol Empire and the realms that stood in its way. Made by two developers who love history, maps and fair game design.
Our story
Arojen tarinat is Finnish for tales of the steppes. The game starts in 1206, the year Temüjin united the tribes of the steppe as Genghis Khan, and lets you decide what happens next.
We wanted a strategy game with the depth of the classic grand strategy titles that still fits on a phone and in a coffee break: clear rules, short turns and decisions that matter. Every realm has its own strengths, every province its own value, and every campaign its own story.
Arojen Tarinat began as a game you can play in a web browser, came to Google Play, and has grown with every version since. Today it is a fully native Android game with online multiplayer, played in fourteen languages.

At a glance
Deep but fair. No forced payments, clear rules, and respect for the player's time and data.
The journey
The beginning
The first Arojen Tarinat ran in any web browser: the map, the realms, the cards and the five paths to victory.
Google Play
The game arrived on Android phones and tablets, free to play on Google Play.
Version 2.0
Faster, smoother and redesigned from the ground up, with fourteen languages, achievements and ranks, a complete rulebook, a world chronicle and the Moose as your guide.
Version 2.1
Multiplayer for two to four players with chat and voice messages, a daily challenge with player levels, accounts with a cloud copy of your progress, and Arojen Premium.
The team
Arojen Tarinat is designed and developed independently in Finland. No publisher, no investors: just the game we want to play.

What we stand for
Everything that wins a campaign is earned by playing. Arojen Premium only removes adverts; it never sells power.
Real realms, real rulers and a world chronicle of the 13th century, told with respect for the people who lived it.

Fourteen languages, offline play and modest phone requirements, so the steppe is open to players everywhere.
